Laboratory Services

charleslabPenobscot Veterinary Services contains a complete in-house diagnostic laboratory capable of all immediate laboratory evaluations for critically injured pets, as well as wellness profiles and pre-anesthetic panels for our surgical and senior patients. By doing many diagnostic procedures at the hospital, we can quickly offer the appropriate treatment for animals. Lab work done onsite includes:

  • We have a Trinocular Compound Phase Contrast/Britefield Microscope with a 9.0mp Digital Camera attached. This allows us to take picture and video recordings of cytology findings that we can then share with our clients. It also allows us to perform telemedicine, which is when we pass the picture or video recordings along to a specialist!
